Our Charities

Nourish supports a number of causes we care about, both in Ireland and abroad. You can read more about our chosen charities and sustainable organisations below.

Focus Ireland

Each year, we donate 20c for every Nourish branded supplement purchased in our stores to causes we care about. Through this initiative, since 2019 we have donated over €18,000 to Focus Ireland's Sponsor a Star campaign, and other charities helping to tackle homelessness, including the Dublin Simon Community and the Peter McVerry Trust.
Everyone has a right to a place they can call home. 87c of every euro Focus Ireland receives is spent directly on services to combat and prevent homelessness.
Look out for us again this year on Focus Ireland's Christmas tree on the top of Grafton Street.

BirdWatch Ireland

In April 2023 we began partnering with Birdwatch Ireland to highlight the dwindling bird populations across the country. From every Viridian Hero Supplement sold at Nourish, we made a donation to Birdwatch Ireland. For the period from 2023 to 2025 Nourish has donated almost €6000 in total. We also designed our delivery truck for Nourish deliveries and transfers across Dublin to continue the awareness - pictured here
63% of Ireland’s bird species are currently threatened with extinction. Birdwatch Ireland is a voluntary conservation organisation devoted to the conservation and protection of wild birds and their habitats in Ireland.

Irish Red Cross

On behalf of our staff and customers, in March 2022 we made a €5,000 donation to the Irish Red Cross Ukraine Appeal.

This donation helped to support the immediate humanitarian response in Ukraine and help those affected by the needless conflict to get food, medicine, shelter and water.

We have also supported UNICEF Ireland in 2021 with a donation of €4,500. This helped to ensure safety through their Give a Vaccine, Get a Vaccine campaign.  Since 2024, we have donated €9,000 to their Children of Gaza campaign. This is to help stop the spread of disease, feed starving families and save lives.

Christmas Jumper Day

Each year, our teams across Ireland take part in Christmas Jumper Day to raise funds for different charities each year.
In 2021 and 2022, our store and head office teams swapped their work wardrobe for something festive to raise money for Focus Ireland and those experiencing homelessness in Ireland.
In 2024, we raised money for The Children's Health Foundation  which we will be supporting again this year. The event will help to raise funds that go towards vital life-savig equipement for the wards, theatres, departments and ICU in our children's hospitals.

RNLI

Like many others in 2020, we took to the sea during lockdown. With sea swimming in mind, we were thrilled to support the publication of A Little Book of Swimming Happiness in aid of the RNLI in Ireland.
This (now sold out) Irish collection of personal swimming stories, poems and photographs was created and published by Catherine Mulcahy.
Selling for €15 inside a number of book shops, cafes and food stores across Dublin, 100% of proceeds went directly to the RNLI, raising over €10,000. Since November 2023 we have sold over 220 copies, through our standalone stores as well as our website.
The RNLI are a charity that saves lives at sea. They do this through lifeboat search and rescue, lifeguards, water safety education and flood rescue.

Zamda Ireland

Zamda is a registered charity dedicated to providing direct and effective aid to a number of projects in and around the city of Kabwe in Zambia.
The main initiative of Zamda is supporting “Sables” which is a centre for Kabwe’s street children; the most vulnerable children in Kabwe. It offers food, clothing, medical care, emergency overnight accommodation, counselling, education and vocational training for over one hundred and fifty orphaned and vulnerable children.
We began our support in 2016, and since then with the help of Zamda, we have funded the creation of a Nourish Kitchen at Sables. This kitchen has been up and running since May 2017, and was built with the purpose of keeping vulnerable children off the streets to teach them a trade they can take anywhere - cooking.
Between 2024 and 2025, we have donated €8,500. €6,000 of this has gone towards their educational unit, paying for students to attend university.

Gortbrack Organic Farm & The Year Round Organic School Garden

Nourish have been supporters of Gortbrack Organic Farm and their Organic School Gardens Project for many years. Based in Co. Kerry, Gortbrack is an award winning hub for environmental education, organic food training, and eco-landscaping.
Nourish have been supporters of the activities associated with Gortbrack Organic Farm for many years as we strongly believe in the principles of biodiversity through organic farming and production.
Through its sister organisation KEEP (Kerry Earth Education Project), Gortbrack has helped develop school gardens across Ireland, introducing thousands of children to planting and growing.
In collaboration with the Irish Seed Savers Association, KEEP recently published the 2nd edition of The Year Round Organic School Garden, a practical guide for teachers to create and use organic school gardens as educational tools. This edition was supported by the Patagonia Environmental Grants Fund and co-sponsored by Nourish and Independent Irish Health Foods Ltd.
