When you join our team, we want you to have a great start. From day one, you’ll be enrolled in the Nourish Academy so you can feel confident at work, gain new skills and have plenty of opportunities to progress within our business.

Whether you develop your career with Nourish or choose another path, we want you to enjoy learning with us, gain valuable new skills, and develop your knowledge of wholefoods and natural products. 

The Nourish Academy is a key part of our staff learning and development program. Store employees complete three key certified Academy modules. Facilitated by our Learning and Development Team, these include:

Customer Focus

We’re really proud of our award winning customer experience. We love to share what we know about natural products and go that extra mile to help someone find what they’re looking for.

New team members take part in two Customer Focus Workshops. Certified by CX Change, these workshops give you the tools and knowledge to provide a helpful, friendly and welcoming shopping experience.

This training continues with our Customer Focus Coaching advanced module, so that teams and customers alike can feel valued, informed and happy about their experience at Nourish.

Product & Ailment Approach

We take a unique Holistic Approach when helping customers at Nourish. Our introductory Product and Ailment series will give new team members the tools to feel confident speaking with customers about our products.

Our advanced sessions support both new and senior team members. They offer more in-depth learning so you can gain a deeper understanding of a variety of common ailments.

Nourish Fundamentals

As one of Ireland’s leading health food stores with more than 35 years’ experience, we know our stuff. We have worked with experts in their fields to create our own Nourish Supplement and Nourish Skincare ranges. These specific training sessions provide an overview of our two product ranges, their ingredients, formulations and usage.

All About Wholefoods

We are Ireland’s Home of the Wholefood. Wholefood is food as it should be. Nothing bad has been added in and nothing good has been taken away. Think grains, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies!

In these training sessions, you’ll learn about nature’s superfoods, sustainable diets and the nutritional benefits of a wholefood, plant-friendly diet.

Leadership

We want to nurture and develop great leaders. Whether you build a career with Nourish or move on to another field, we want you to build longstanding leadership skills with us so you can inspire, develop and guide a team.

We facilitate Leadership and Management training through in-house bespoke leadership modules. We also work with Retail Excellence and the CPL Institute for further growth and development.

Meet the Makers

Hear directly from our favourite brands, producers and makers. We facilitate over 30 training sessions from our partners. These regular opportunities to speak with the people behind the products can help teams increase their knowledge, ask product specific questions and gain valuable brand insights.

Nourish Learning Library

All our team members gain access to our Nourish Learning Library. This is our own resource database with extensive information about wholefoods, natural products, ailments and our Holistic Approach.

Here you’ll find a wealth of information to further your own learning including articles, interactive case studies, online courses, workbooks and seminars.

Health and Safety

This module provides you with information and instruction on safe manual handling techniques.

Once completed, your certificate will be valid for three years and recognised by all organisations across Ireland.

Rita Taryvdaite, Learning and Development Manager

Rita is a qualified Naturopath and Clinical Herbalist, and has worked with Nourish for over 11 years. Starting as a Sales Assistant in our Nutgrove store, she progressed her way through the company working in various roles including a Store Management position. Rita stepped into the role of Learning and Development Manager in 2018 and is responsible for the company's Learning and Development Department and all training Nourish has to offer.

Ally McDonald, Learning and Development Facilitator

Ally is a qualified Nutritional Therapist and has a post graduate qualification in Biopharmaceutical Engineering. She started her career with Nourish over 9 years ago as a Sales Assistant in our Dublin City Centre stores. Ally worked in both Assistant Manager and Manager positions before joining the Learning and Development Department in 2020. She is responsible for many aspects of training at Nourish including delivering training sessions and writing training support materials.
