Derek Kelly and his wife Yvonne opened their first health food store on Marlborough Street in Dublin’s north inner city in 1986. What began as one store has since grown into a proudly Irish, second-generation family business with 21 locations across Ireland.

Today, their son Odhran leads the company as Managing Director, supported by his sister Sarah and their father Derek. Our partnership with Dunnes Stores, which began in 2017 has helped us bring wholefoods, natural products and wellness to even more people across the country.

For almost 40 years, we’ve been helping our customers feel their best, growing with generations who trust us for natural products, honest advice and everyday goodness.

Every product on our shelves has been thoughtfully chosen by our experienced buying team, drawing on decades of expertise. We take the time to look for quality, sustainability and integrity in everything we stock, so you don’t have to second-guess what’s in your basket.

Our favourite food products are those with short and simple ingredient lists, so we can offer you products that feel good and are good for you. Natural and organic will always be our first choice.

We prioritise recyclable or compostable packaging, and steer clear of unnecessary single-use materials wherever possible.

Organic brown rice, lentils, olive oil and cacao will have travelled some distance to reach your local store, but when a product can be sourced in Ireland, we’ll always do our best to offer a local choice to help reduce the overall food miles of your meals.

And because values matter, we seek out and get behind brands whose ethics align with ours - including B Corp certified products that have already done the hard work of proving a positive impact. It’s our way of making better choices easier for you.

As a family-owned Irish business, we value the people who make Nourish what it is - our teams, customers, producers and suppliers, and everyone who supports us along the way.

Our store teams are here to share their product knowledge and helpful advice, so you can find products that work for you and your wellbeing. All our store teams complete our in-house training program, the Nourish Academy. This blended-learning programme covers customer care, nutrition fundamentals and the key natural products we’re proud to stock.

We never stop learning. Whether it’s through our team Knowledge Hub app or time spent with brand experts in store, our teams are always building their knowledge so they can answer your questions with confidence and care.

Sustainability has always been part of our story. From how we source to how we package, to our tree planting partnership with Irish Trees, we think about our impact every step of the way.

We prioritise re-using materials and reducing waste wherever possible, from repurposed delivery packaging in our warehouse to the reuse of shelving and fixtures during store fit outs. At our head office we’ve installed solar panels that now generate between 40%–50% of our energy needs, with summer peaks reaching 64%.

Choosing brands that share our values also helps us keep plastic use to a minimum, with recyclable or compostable packaging wherever possible. Supporting organic products and ingredients is extremely important to us because healthy soil supports clean water, thriving wildlife and the future of our food.

While there’s always more to do, we keep working to make shopping with us better for our planet.

We’re proud to support charities and community projects across Ireland – from national organisations like BirdWatch Ireland and Focus Ireland to local groups including St. Francis Hospice and the Cavan Centre. Giving back has always been an important part of who we are.

We partnered with Irish Trees in 2024 as part of a multi-year project to plant thousands of native trees at Dunsany Castle Nature Reserve in Co. Meath. This initiative is helping to restore native woodlands, support biodiversity and create wild habitats where nature can thrive.

In 2025, we launched the Nourish Team Community Fund. Through this initiative, our team members can nominate local causes for funding that are important to them. This year, €20,000 was shared among projects across Ireland that are making a positive impact in communities, health, equality, and the environment
