Oat bran is the outer layer of the oat grain. It’s a good source of iron and dietary fibre, with studies showing that the soluble fibre found in oats can aid in the reduction of cholesterol.
Oat bran has quite a distinctive texture and a nutty flavour, and makes a great addition to porridge, muesli, bread, baked goods like muffins and cakes to boost the nutrition level, or even added to smoothies.
